Fairbanks-Morse Train Master

The model for the O scale Train Master project are manufactured by Boo-Rim Precision Co. Inc. They are super detailed high quality models with a mechanism that is arguably the best in the business. The truck castings are superb with a finish quality and depth that has been rarely seen in the past except for the Alco project done by C&LS. All other castings are of the same quality. The sheet metal is of a substantial thickness for strength with the body reinforced internally. The etchings are deep and with sharp detail. All handrails and grills are stainless steel for strength and appearance. The models have movable doors and windows with the 5 fans being individually powered by micro miniature motors. The trucks have ball bearings in the side frames with electrical pickups to the outboard axles. There are two Pittman ball bearing motors driving separate gear towers also having ball bearings. A shaft from each tower runs under the floor but hidden from normal view to a truck which has a unique bolster design that allows for better tracking and easier access to the drive. It is the same drive as the Alco project but with two motors and towers. The two axles in each truck with the greatest spacing between them has a universal between them for better tracking and more flexible suspension. The springs in the truck sideframes are closest yet to scale appearance and still work easily. The trucks also have a roller mechanism to prevent the truck brake cylinder castings from touching the frame and therefore shorting the model. This model will be the most accurate, best running ever made for the Fairbanks Morse Train Master. The C&LS model captures all the unique features of the prototype perfectly. These features make for an interesting model that will give the operator and collector alike much satisfaction and joy.

Only the Train Master demonstrators, Pennsylvania with antennas, Southern Pacific black widow, and Virginian Train Masters will be completely factory painted. The rest of these versions will be partially factory painted and finished here in the U.S. by a custom painter. These are Phase 1 & Phase 2 Jersey Central, Reading, Lackawanna, Erie Lackawanna, and stock Fairbanks Morse. What you get on these semi finished models is the frame, mechanism, trucks and fuel tank painted black and baked. The lights and Kadee couplers are installed with the glass in a separate parts package. No clear coat is applied. To finish the model the mechanism does not have to be disassembled or the clear coat removed. C&LS can finish the model here with a custom painter or you can use your own custom painter. The paint from the factory is extremely durable and perfectly applied. All models finished this way are priced at $1475.00 with shipping extra. For prices of completely finished models other than the factory ones please inquire. The prices for the factory finished models are listed below.
